As the vice president of the Pan African lawyers union for North Africa Pan African Lawyers Union (Official) I had the opportunity to be part of the forum held in Berlin, Germany titled “ Investment in Africa”.
This forum was held by Deutsche Stiftung für internationale rechtliche Zusammenarbeit e.V. (IRZ) and the most dynamic person Mohamed Montasser Abidi in partnership with @German Fedral Bar André Haug Riad Khalil Hassanain .

Pan African Lawyers Union Delegation Visits the Egyptian Bar Association to Discuss Annual Conference Arrangements in Cairo
Cairo –
The President of the Egyptian Bar Association received a delegation from the Pan African Lawyers Union (PALU) as part of an official visit aimed at discussing the logistical and organizational arrangements for the Union’s Annual Conference, scheduled to be held in Cairo from 31 August to 2 September 2026.
The delegation included the Vice President for West Africa, the Vice President for North Africa, and the Secretary General. Discussions focused on enhancing coordination efforts to ensure the successful organization of a conference that reflects the Union’s standing and Egypt’s leading role in supporting the legal profession across Africa.
During the meeting, the President of the Egyptian Bar Association emphasized the strong and longstanding relationship between the Egyptian Bar and PALU, noting that the Egyptian Bar has been a founding and active member since the Union’s establishment in 2002. He reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to continuing its supportive role in strengthening legal cooperation across the African continent.
Comprehensive Egyptian Support for the Conference
The Egyptian Bar Association expressed its full readiness to provide all necessary support to ensure the success of the conference, including:
• Providing suitable venues for plenary sessions and workshops.
• Delivering logistical and organizational support for participating delegations, including coordination of accommodation and transportation.
• Facilitating reception and registration procedures for participants from across Africa.
• Coordinating with relevant state authorities to ensure proper organization and security of the event.
• Contributing to the development of the conference’s scientific program in line with current legal issues facing the African continent.
Both sides also agreed to maintain ongoing coordination through joint committees to closely follow up on all technical and organizational aspects and to address any potential challenges.
A Conference to promote Legal Cooperation in Africa
For its part, the PALU delegation expressed its appreciation for Egypt’s continued support of the Union, commending the warm reception and the Egyptian Bar Association’s commitment to ensuring the success of the conference. The event is expected to serve as a key platform for exchanging expertise and addressing common legal challenges across African countries.
The conference is anticipated to attract broad participation from legal institutions and bar associations across the continent, contributing to strengthening legal integration and advancing the legal profession in Africa.
In my capacity as the vice president of the Pan African Lawyers Union for North Africa, I had the honor of leading the delegation of the Pan African Lawyers Union to Tunisia, celebrating the ceremony of the judicial year.
